Clustery and crunchy Maple Brown Sugar Granola made with oats, coconut oil, maple syrup, brown sugar, and a touch of cinnamon! Perfect by the handful or served on yogurt for the most delicious breakfast or mid-day snack!

Granola is one of my favorite go-to snacks! I started making homemade granola about 4 years ago and it quickly became a crowd favorite! It comes together in one bowl using only a handful of pantry staple ingredients. The combination of maple syrup and brown sugar creates a perfectly sweet granola!

Ingredients in Maple Brown Sugar Granola

  • Oats: Make sure to sure old fashion rolled oats for this recipe. I love to use Bob’s Red Mill Organic Old Fashion Rolled Oats. Do not use quick cooking or instant oats.
  • Nuts: I like to use walnuts, pecans, or a blend of the two. Feel free to use any nut that you like!
  • Maple Syrup: Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • Brown Sugar: Use light brown sugar. When measuring, make sure to pack into the measuring cup to ensure the proper amount is used.
  • Coconut Oil: Make sure to measure the coconut oil once melted.
  • Vanilla Extract: Use 100% pure vanilla extract. Do not use imitation vanilla.
  • Cinnamon: A touch of cinnamon gives the granola the perfect flavor.
  • Salt: Balances the sweetness of the granola.

Storing Homemade Granola

Homemade granola can stay fresh at room temperature for up to 4 weeks. To ensure the granola stays fresh, store in an airtight container or Ziploc bag. The granola can also be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
