Fudgy Double Chocolate Cookies

These Fudgy Double Chocolate Cookies are thick, rich, and a chocolate lover’s dream!

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus additional for top)
  1. Beat together room temperature unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar for 3 minutes until light and creamy.
  2. Add in eggs, one at time. Beat well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Beat until JUST combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Cover and chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes. If chilled overnight, allow to come to room temperature for 10 minutes prior to forming into balls.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  8. Using a cookie scoop form cookie dough into large ball. Roll in extra chocolate chips. Place on parchment lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
  10. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
